CurrentRandy Barth is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Think Together, a non-profit education company that provides Early Learning, Expanded Learning, and School Improvement at schools statewide in California.Barth began his work in the after school arena when he founded the award-winning Shalimar Learning Center as a volunteer after a gang shooting in a tough barrio in Westside Costa Mesa in 1994. The success of that model resulted in the establishment of Think Together as a non-profit organization in 1997 with Barth serving as volunteer Board Chair. Upon the sale of his company, Barth came to work at Think Together as CEO in late 2003. Think Together has grown more than one hundred-fold since then making it one of the fastest growing non-profits in the U.S. Since becoming Chief Executive Officer, Barth:Revitalized financially struggling organization; Solidified the organization then developed public/private model and scaled the organization from $1.5 million budget serving 2,000 students to $150 million budget serving more than 200,000 students; Provides services at more than 600 schools; Developed and implemented successful strategic plan; Raised more than $75 million of private philanthropy to leverage more than $750 million of public funds; Acquired bank financing to cash flow rapid growth; Completed the acquisition of Bay Area After School All Stars; Recapitalized and acquired a minority interest in the Principal's Exchange (rebranded as Orenda Education); Acquired the Expanded Learning Division and GEAR UP programs from Youth Policy Institute; Acquired the balance of Orenda fully integrating it into Think's 501(c)3. Built deep management team and strong results-oriented culture; Achieved some of the strongest academic outcomes in the nation; Built a replicable, scalable school support model. Organization is poised to continue to grow at a rapid rate.
