I hold a Ph.D. in Clinical Counseling with a Teaching Specialization. I have over nine years of counselor education teaching experience and am currently working as an affiliate faculty at Northwestern University. I am also a Nationally Certified Counselor through the National Board of Certified Counselors. Additionally, I hold a Master’s degree in Interpersonal Relations from Grace College. Before my full-time academic career, I saw clients under the supervision of Carla Babb, LPC, MHSP at The Cypress Counseling Group, PLLC in Brentwood, TN.Therapeutically, I aim to create a safe space where my clients can foster healing and pursue wholeness. Everyone has a story to tell and deserves a place to share it. I aim to honor the stories of both hurting and hope in my clients. Due to my former work in holistic health, I also have a strong interest in the mind, body, and spirit connection. I consider it an honor to walk alongside others as they seek to improve their quality of life and overall wellness. I approach therapy from an integrated and attachment-based lens. I also have a background in religious studies and am open to incorporating spirituality into therapeutic work upon request. I have completed EMDR training Level 1. I am also certified to facilitate the PREPARE/ENRICH premarital and martial training program.Educationally, I seek to teach and research in a way that empowers and equips students and colleagues to become all of who they were created to be. I aim to contribute to the academic community through service in teaching, research, publication, and professional presentations. I am a dynamic teacher, researcher, clinician, and scholar who specializes in the areas of counselor identity development, wellness perfectionism, and self-efficacy. I also have extensive experience in mentoring and leadership development.
