Dr. Ann Wilson, is a licensed Clinical Psychologist who has been in the field for 20 years. She specializes in technical writing and editing, and service provision to older adults and families. Dr. Wilson currently provides services to individuals in her private practice. Dr. Wilson provided services in several hospital systems integrating mental health care with medical care, and successfully assisted with increasing participation in rehabilitation and discharge planning. Dr. Wilson’s work in the California prison system led to the development of crisis intervention services for inmates awaiting hospitalization; she also enhanced the coordination of their outpatient program for the severely mentally ill participants and provided direct clinical services. She is highly regarded for the care and concern that she demonstrates towards her clients and her willingness to think outside of the box to find solutions for difficult systemic problems.Dr. Wilson has taught a course on Critical Thinking, Body Image workshops, and trainings in attachment theory and mental health signs and symptoms to a diverse population including undergraduate, graduate and high school students, and prison and mental health systems staff, interns and clinicians. Her research interests address cultural competency, HIV/AIDS care, and religious discrimination. Her other accomplishments include working within the county mental health system providing services to children, families and care providers involved with California’s Child Protective Services.
