Hi, I’m Dr. April Read, a Chicago native and founder of Empowers Consulting. I’ve been obsessed with employee engagement and people ever since I realized just how powerful a good workplace culture can be. If it’s about making employees feel connected to the mission, vision, and values of their organization, I’m all in!I’m the youngest of five kids, and the first in my family to graduate from high school, which I like to think gives me some serious survival skills! I went to boarding school (which explains my lifelong love for structure and strategy) and double-majored in college, finishing in 3.5 years—because who needs a full four years when you’ve got goals? By 30, I had my doctorate in hand and was ready to conquer the world of organizational psychology.I’m a strategic thinker with over 15 years of experience helping individuals and companies translate big ideas into messaging and actions that actually resonates with employees. If I can make people feel connected to the strategy and values of their workplace, I know I’m doing something right.Let’s just say if you’re looking for someone who’s passionate about people, culture, and making work more meaningful, I’m your person!Let's connect and explore how we can work together to empower you and/or your organization to reach new heights.
