Startup focusing on Workforce Analytics

Leading Monsanto's largest offshore IT team of around 110-120 professionals serving the needs of ~3500 R&D professionals globally that includes over 150 applications and petabytes of data.

 Provide IT leadership for the India region business through conceptualizing and implementing innovative solutions across the business value chain including finance, sales, marketing and supply chain. Implemented technological solutions for sales, marketing and new business development including mobility solutions for market development with an estimated NPV of ~$15 million. Spearheaded the introduction of cloud based CRM & Demand Forecasting solutions, with an estimated NPV of ~$1.5 million during phase 1. Analytics: Initiated statistical analysis of data obtained from multiple sales, marketing and R&D initiatives. Identified key patterns correlating sales increases to specific market development and customer support initiatives. Established an analytical dashboard bringing together multiple datatypes. Innovation: Part of the core project team in conceptualizing and implementation of a new global pilot worth $23 million for retail management targeting farmers across Asia, Africa and Eastern Europe.

 Provided decision support analysis for the business to make informed strategic decisions on alliances, mergers & acquisitions. Innovation: Conceptualized and implemented a quantitative methodology for industry & firm analysis. 5 out of top 25 biological companies identified (total of 450 companies) were acquired within 6 months of the analysis with Monsanto acquiring Agradis and partnering with #2 ranked Novozymes.

 Led global cross-geographical project teams in addition to local responsibilities that included members across India, China and the US. Innovation & Analytics: Pioneered along with an external solutions provider, semantic mining of concepts and relationships across multiple documents (structured & unstructured) using NLP techniques and graph algorithms.  Thought Leadership: Championed the use of advanced visualization methods resulting in the acquisition of the first full length visualization “Wall” for Monsanto, at the Research Center. This has resulted in enhanced collaboration and more integrated data analysis. Innovation: Worked in identifying the putative mode of action of genes that are in the next generation of Monsanto’s products with an expected NPV of ~$500 million through the nomination of more than 1000 genes to Monsanto’s biotech pipeline.

 Conducted research on protein structural biology and systems biology problems of a fundamental nature, using machine learning algorithms and molecular dynamics simulations  Innovation: Identified fundamental concepts in protein folding dynamics. Published 10 papers in high impact factor peer-reviewed journals in 2 years.

 Head of Information Science Group, (ISG) dealing with all aspects of mining information from biological data. The group activities consisted of both research and services components.  Worked on protein structure-function relationships using machine learning algorithms and implementing numerous parallel and distributed algorithms and software solutions including the first Grid-enabled Bioinformatics software in the Asia-Pacific region called GridBlast. Innovation: Defended research ideas to scientific advisory committee that included Michael Levitt, winner of the 2013 Nobel Prize in Chemistry. More than 30 publications over across multiple disciplines.

 Pre-sales role that included customer interaction and setting up complete solutions for high performance computing including bioinformatics

 Design and implement control solutions using application design documents and requirements specifications as well as advanced control algorithm development Implemented an automated control system in a Miller beer plant in Dallas Fort-Worth as part of the implementation team.
