Recovery & Enhanced Care Management • March 2021 – September 2021  Provided customers with access to necessary benefits, treatment and healthcareservices following accidents resulting in severe or catastrophic injuries. Assessed customer baseline level of function, set recovery goals, implementappropriate care plans, identify milestones and timelines to support them inmanaging the physical and psychological impacts resulting from their accident. Guided over 200+ customers to successfully return to work by developingattainable rehabilitation and RTW plans that address complex needs andlimitations. Liaised with health care professionals and facilities, community stakeholders, andmedical support teams to assist in the coordination of customers insurancebenefits. Recognized by the Director of Claims to hold a high level of patience whenresolving a complex case with a customer asking numerous policy changequestions. Prioritized and managed all documents relevant to customer’s claim, includingkeeping case files up to date and recording details required to facilitate recovery. Efficiently manage difficult situations and maintain discretion to keep customers apriority; ensured that equal rights are respected and adhered to confidentiality. Obtained and examined pre-injury and up-to-date medical reports, and approvedtreatment plans for health care providers, and medications, or cannabis and Botox. Strong aptitude to interpret policy wordings and set simplified criteria for eligibility. Collected documentation re: employment status and wage loss, calculateddeductions, and processed reimbursements for non-direct billing expenses. Worked with occupational therapist to determine extent of injury and assessphysical dexterity needs for customers RTW and modified duties, oraccommodated working from home, and/or assigned alternate job duties withincustomers capacity.

Accidental Benefit Claims • March 2019 – March 2021  Managed multiple file caseloads including accidental benefits, long-term and short-term disability, and high-risk claims. Reviewed customer claim files, transferred criteria, accident details, and processedapplications for accident benefits and enhanced care benefits. Dealt with customer’s legal representatives and health care providers regardingcustomer's recovery processes, homemaking, TTD exposure, and RTW plans. Calculated income replacement benefits and other medical benefits with multipleinsurance providers such as: STD, LTD, EI, sick or vacation time, extended coveragethrough Sunlife, Manulife or any other insurance provider. Liaised with WorkSafe BC staff to help customers receive benefits based on policy. Documented benefits approvals or denials for medical and rehabilitation claims. Provided appropriate coverage for customers with medically reasonable andnecessary expenses related to accident injuries. Had privilege to voice my current experience and strategies to Nicolas Jimenez,President and CEO of ICBC, before the launch of new enhanced care department.
