I am a dynamic, adaptable, and highly accomplished Manager and Data, Policy, and Compliance Leader with over two decades of experience delivering high quality data research, policy change and people management with the Victorian Government’s Department of Health. I possess a naturally flexible, strategic and highly analytical mindset, which allows me to identify problems, adapt to changing circumstances and quickly develop robust and complete solutions while maintaining focus on broad strategic goals and daily operational details. This makes me adept at understanding the intricate complexities of policy change as well as providing high-level advice. I have accomplished much during my time with the Department of Health, and faced a great deal of complex, highly sensitive and important challenges including the delivery of extensive emergency management data on the go for the Victorian Floods and Bushfires and the floods in Victoria and interstate where I was seconded, as well as the COVID-19 pandemic. I have also established a strong track record in policy and support of community-based projects including developing programs to understand and further develop policies on occupational violence and bullying in Health Services; evaluating the Mental Health Act 2014; and developing an understanding of issues impacting the child protection clients as well as investigating their pathway and advising policy and program areas. I also worked as Senior Epidemiologist and Project Manager for highly noted, large-scale Victorian Government initiatives, and Victoria’s largest Preventative Health Surveys (PHS). I spent seven years as a Senior Epidemiologist and Project Manager for large and highly noted Victorian Government initiatives, including the Healthy Together Victoria (HTV), which was Victoria’s flagship preventative health effort, aimed at taking a unique ‘complex systems approach’ to reducing the population’s chronic disease risk in Victoria. I also worked on the Neighbourhood Renewal (NR) project, which was a Victorian State Government initiative for people who live in disadvantaged communities and are at an increased risk of social exclusion through diminished access to quality services, lack of opportunities and an overall feeling of powerlessness over decisions relating to their health. My highly engaging communication style allows me to navigate complex stakeholder relationships across a diverse range, both in terms of seniority and technical understanding. I am able to collaboratively arrive at best-case solutions that leave all parties happy.
