About Drayton Leflar
I have always had a passion for approaching problems with analytical mindset and using data to drive decisions. With a background in finance and economics my career path started in commercial banking where I would gain a deep understanding on how to write credit. After working in this field I realized my passion was data storytelling and I became captivated with constantly improving the level of analysis I can provide with the tools around me. My passion for self learning and continuous development has lead me to be an advanced user in power BI and Microsoft excel. Another software that I find myself routinely using is Alteryx. I have become fascinated with Alteryx and I enjoy using it whenever it best suits the problem at hand which is typically when the data I am working with involves routine and heavy ETL. As I continued to work with Alteryx I started to feel fairly proficient so I challenged the core certification exam and passed. My current role has lead me to be involved in a broad range of projects that have continuously challenged me in a variety of ways. I have had the privilege to work on inventory allocation, sales performance tracking, compensation models, advanced models to automate invoicing, executive level reporting, and financial modelling. Some of the other applications I have exposure to would be Hyperion BrioQuery, Oracle Databases, Oracle Broadcast Server, Splunk, SSIS, and SQL server. In my spare time I am an avid rock climber and when I am not working I am usually at the climbing gym. On Sunday's I manage a team of around 8 route setters to create the product that goes on the wall for the gym's climbing customers. Although, route setting is much more physical than data analysis, the creativity to design and build a product remains the same. Route setting is the creative framework through which climbers will get to express themselves through so it's important the clients get unique and exciting challenges on a regular basis.
