‘I arise in the morning torn between a desire to improve the world and a desire to enjoy the world. This does make it hard to plan the day’. Yet, ‘I have a why in life, so I can bear any how’.Over the last 20 years I have amassed knowledge, skills and experience in healthcare (public and community health, prehospital care, telemedicine), education (academia, research, teaching), social and public policy, youth and voluntary work, humanitarian work and outdoor activities. My personal and professional platform, drBACKPACK, gives me the space to appreciate areas of life that enable me to enjoy the world (elements), and contribute to areas that I would like to improve (streams).Although I am primarily a Paramedic, I have several work streams that I continue to pursue via my platform:1) Clinical Room – the Healthcare Professional: exercising my knowledge and skills in a wide range of roles and settings.2) Academia – the Researcher/Academic: continuously exercising my interest in the social and political sciences, currently focusing upon international disaster management/humanitarian aid. 3) Empowerment – the Trainer/Educator: currently delivering sessions and developing resources related to my interest in emotional wellbeing and performance. 4) Outdoors – the Adventurer: qualified Mountain Leader exploring the outdoors in myriad ways (hike, climb, paddle) + eager to enhance access for others.5) Sensorium – the Artist: creative writer with plans to further my experience with multiple creative outlets.Right now I am invested in several projects and programmes, yet also actively exploring new opportunities, particularly anything beyond the UK. I have a lifelong interest in living and working overseas having explored the world through academia yet hungry for more experience in person. I am open to opportunities that are focused on one stream of work or combine multiple streams. If there’s anything you think fits my profile and interests, please get in touch here or by email: contact@drbackpack.org. Thank You 😊
