Dr Bineshian, Hoss is an Australian Principal Civil Engineer who is Director (Technical) at Amberg, Senior VP at TAI, former VP at ISEG, and research supervisor at MIT and CU. He obtained his 1st rank BEng in Civil and Mining (Tunnelling) from SUT, 1st rank MSc in Civil (Geomechanics) from TMU, MPhil with distinction in Civil (Structure) from UWA, and PhD in Civil (Geotechnics) from UWA in Perth, Australia. He has the reputation of being a qualified detail-focused tunnelling and infrastructure expert with 27 years’ experience in design and construction of road, metro, and railway tunnels, hydro-power, slope, and foundation at multidisciplinary consultancy and construction firms in four continents. He is highly competent in design with conceptual, computational, and analytical abilities, who has been succeeded with decisiveness in problem solving and project management in the construction of infrastructures; a self-motivated productive and innovative team player having integrity and resilience.He has developed Bineshian Failure Criterion in 2000, CQD in 2011 for concrete classification, a strain measuring technique based on DIC in 2012, a CDP FEM constitutive model in 2013, SRH System in treatment of squeezing, swelling, and heaving ground in 2015, GCD testing method in 2017, I-System, a comprehensive classification and characterisation system for ground in 2019, I-DP, an I-System-based design procedure for structures in ground in 2020, ViD assessment for damage induced by vibration in 2021, I-TM, a complete tunnelling method in 2022, and I-GI, a cost- and time-efficient accurate ground investigation method in 2024. Dr Bineshian’s works are successfully applied in industries; he has delivered over 50 key notes, lectures, and courses on his developments, inventions, and innovations in several prestigious organisations and universities worldwide. He established an in-house design team in Larsen and Toubro in 2018.He has authored over 50 peer-reviewed international journal and conference papers in the field of tunnelling, structures, geotechnics, and geomechanics. His book “Stress Non-uniformity in Concrete and Rock Structures” was published in 2014 in Germany. His professional software package “I-System Software” has been released in 2020 in Australia. Important inventions and developments of Dr Bineshian including I-System, I-TM, and SRH has been included in Indian Railways’ Construction Manual by Ministry of Railways in 2023 and in terms of references of National Highways Authority of India of Ministry of Road, Transport, and Highways in 2024.
