I have dedicated my career to evoking positive change in the lives of urban youth, and helping to build community through the power of education as an educator, charter school system founder and CEO. Since 2012, I have led Memphis-based Frayser Community Schools, which included the first full-scale transformation high school in the state of Tennessee. Prior to founding and leading FCS, I spent many years as a school leader within Shelby County Schools, where I gained national attention for developing the “Urkel Initiative” to transform school culture. I am an alum of The Broad Academy and the Flamboyan Foundation, and was recently inducted into the 2022 cohort of Pahara Fellows. I have served on the Charter School Policy Council of the Tennessee Charter School Center, and previously served on SCORE, the State Collaborative on Reforming Education Tennessee Policy.I am available for anti racism coaching and consulting and speaking engagements.
