Accredited ophthalmology trainee at The Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital, Melbourne, Australia. I am a current Doctor of Philosophy candidate with special interests in eye injuries and quality improvement. I previously worked as an ophthalmic surgical assistant.My research focuses on the epidemiology, outcomes, and economic cost of eye injuries. I am a recipient of The Cheng Lin Memorial Fund Scholarship and have received over $30,000 in competitive funding and awards. I have authored 22 peer-reviewed publications, and my research has been featured on ABC Radio National and in two Editorials by Clinical and Experimental Ophthalmology. I was the principal investigator on an audit to improve the quality and safety of afterhours healthcare at Campbelltown Hospital that was shortlisted for the Health District’s Quality Awards. I hold a Diploma in Performing (Speech and Drama) which assists my ability to communicate scientific concepts to my patients and I have given oral podium presentations at conferences. I have received excellent feedback on my leadership, teamwork, and organisational skills during my involvement in university as an appointed Conjoint Associate Lecturer, principal violinist of an orchestra, and fundraising through community volunteering. These experiences have prepared me to pursue training in ophthalmology. With my diverse background, I will bring enthusiasm, flexibility, and a curiosity to learn.
