As a "Scholar" at The Foundation for Critical Thinking, I conduct professional workshops in critical thinking methods and the educational theories developed by Fellows at the organization. I also identify areas of scholarship and research new critical thinking applications for the organization's efforts. I continue to be fortunate enough to study directly with Fellows and Scholars at FCT in order to deepen my own knowledge, and I am a first-generation student of the late Dr. Richard Paul, FCT's founder. I have been the instructor for FCT's online CT700, Basic Critical Thinking Class for Educators, CT701 Advanced Critical Thinking Class for Educators, and CT800 Tools for Taking Charge of Your Learning and Your Life.

As a Philosophy professor, I manage classroom activities, help students internalize content, and teach fairminded critical thinking skills. I also expose students to non-traditional learning methods, support colleagues and departments, and make efforts to advance the fields in which I teach. I make consistent efforts to connect academic environments to their surrounding communities. At U of L, I teach Business Ethics, Critical Thinking, Introduction to Logic, Contemporary Ethical Problems, and Introduction to Philosophy. I also teach the online "Sustainable Action Workshop" in the Sustainability M.A. program, hosted by Urban Planning and Public Affairs at U of L, and I have been fortunate enough to teach in The Humanities Department.

I direct all programming and activities for the University of Louisville's Eco-Reps program, including development of projects, volunteer training, and media. Eco-Reps at U of L is focused on Sustainability Education and Service, and my team's training videos (available here: http://louisville.edu/sustainability/operations/eco-reps/eco-reps.html) won a Multimedia award for their role in preventing pollution from the National Pollution Prevention Roundtable in 2014. We operate the U of L Community Composting Project, conduct regular training meetings on campus, certify learners in sustainability tasks, contribute to U of L's Garden Commons, and we support a variety of sustainability activities, like alternative power and beekeeping, for U of L's Sustainability programs.

At this institution, I teach primarily in Philosophy, but not exclusively. My Philosophy courses are Introduction to Ethics, Elementary Logic, Environmental Ethics, Business Ethics, and Introduction to Philosophy. In Religion, I teach Introduction to Eastern Religions, and I also teach Introduction to Humanities. I have taught three multidisciplinary seminars: The Japanese Sword, Sustainable Action Workshop, and Critical Thinking and Being Human.

I provide services, training, and products associated with composting, vermicomposting, and other sustainability services. We pick up compostables from Louisville businesses and individual households, and we directly support The University of Louisville Community Composting Project.

I travel to Panama City, Panama, once or twice annually to teach at Quality Leadership University for The University of Louisville Philosophy Department. I teach Business Ethics, Introduction to Logic, and Environmental Ethics.

I teach Hontai Yoshin Ryu jujutsu and weaponry, along with Yamaguchi-ha Toyama Ryu. We are affiliated with The Shudokan Martial Arts Association, and my direct teacher is Dr. Stephen Fabian Sensei, Senior Advisor of Hontai Yoshin Ryu in the United States. I teach problem solving and decision making courses for a variety of corporate clients.

In the Interdisciplinary Core at Bellarmine, I teach classes at three levels. Freshman level classes are focused on on critical thinking, close reading, and focused writing techniques. Junior level classes develop independent writing and research skills, as well as promoting engagement around a non-US topic. The Senior level of IDC promotes discussions of Catholic Social Thought and social justice/applied ethics; students at this level work on oral presentation and communication skills, in addition to developing and actualizing volunteerism opportunities. To date, I have taught the following seminars in this program: Critical Thinking and Being Human (honors section); Water (honors); Exploring Critical Thinking; Introduction to Popular Culture and Philosophy; Philosophy and Science Fiction; The Japanese Sword; Japanese Sword Culture; Philosophies of Asia; Eastern Ideas; Exploring Social Justice; and Sustainable Action Workshop.
