Carol is an organizational development consultant, a board director, and trained lawyer. She began her career in Toronto, practicing tax law. Carol moved to British Columbia where she practiced commercial law, acting as counsel to 300+ companies for two decades. Carol has extensive experience as an adjudicator with tribunals, such as the BC Utilities Commission and the Forest Appeals Commission. She had her first role as a board director with the Canadian Red Cross Society (Toronto) in the late 1980's as the Treasurer; this piqued her interest in board governance, and she began sitting on several community boards in Prince George. In more recent years Carol has served as a board director on the Prince George Airport Authority, the Insurance Corporation of BC, and is currently serving on the Victoria Airport Authority and Consumer Protection BC.Carol has a keen interest in ESG - Environmental, Social, and Governance - and is heartened by studies that confirm the link between organizations that implement ESG and improved financial performance, reduced regulatory and legal risk, enhanced corporate reputation, and a more sustainable environmental impact. Carol's experience in non-profit board governance, regulatory tribunals, the practice of law, and strategic organizational development has allowed her to see first hand how ESG policies and practices improve organizational effectiveness.
