As Adviser to the CEO I assisted in the strategic planning process underpinned by industry consultation and have been responsible for a number of strategic projects including the Work Integrated Learning initiative that encompassed Employability Skills and Labour Market Intelligence Research.Held a variety of Polytechnic posts including oversight of Academic Development; Marketing and Industry Liaison; and Student Services Directorates. Chaired the Academic Quality Assurance Committee; Research Committee, Enterprise Development Committee, and was Deputy Chair of the Academic Board.

A key role in the Polytechnic’s establishment project, with responsibility for developing Curriculum, Student Learning Support and Quality Assurance plans to ensure there were structures, systems and procedures in place.

Provided leadership for academic programs, supporting the strategic direction of the Polytechnic in a new environment of change and greater accountability.

Was responsible for strategic management, relationship management, marketing and communications, financial and property management at both the school and hostel. Implemented a holistic program of learning and support services to engage the diversity of learners.

Began work at EIT as a tutor of anatomy, physiology, and microbiology for nurses; food hygiene for hospitality industry; beekeeping for agriculture cadets; laboratory technician training and facilitating life skills programs for the unemployed. Promoted to Course supervisor, overseeing the science components of Bachelor Nursing Studies. Later became Head of School of Science and Technology, responsible also for engineering and horticulture, including establishment of a wine-making program.
