I'm a dual-qualified General and Developmental Paediatrician with more than 20 years experience working and training in Medicine. As well as being an active clinician, I'm also an author, educator and health communicator. I enjoy discussing health issues, parenting and research and I've been featured in the media including The Sydney Morning Herald, The Conversation and Channel 7 News. (Ok to be fair I was only on the national news once in 2019, but my online articles have been read more than 800,000 times just on The Conversation!). My most popular YouTube video has nothing to do with child health and has over 700,000 views. I also speak regularly at local and international conferences.My aim is to improve the care children receive in the future as well as providing it now. I have volunteered as an Instructor in Advanced Paediatric Life Support (APLS) for nearly 10 years. I also teach regularly as a Conjoint Lecturer at UNSW and I have sat on the Editorial Board of the official paediatric journal of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians since 2014.After witnessing the challenges experienced by children with complex feeding difficulties, especially those who tube-feed, myself and a small group of like-minded families, clinicians and researchers founded the SUCCEED Child Feeding Alliance in 2016.SUCCEED is an international leader in this small but significant field.
