I believe data and technology can help to create a public health system where everyone has the opportunity to fulfill his/her/their full potential and lead a healthy, productive life.As a physician-scientist, my career has spanned academia, non-profit, and the public sector (federal and state). My expertise includes decision sciences, health policy, and behavioral health. After a decade-long career as a tenured professor at Columbia University, I have spent the last five years serving leadership and advisory roles in the Obama administration, the National Academy of Medicine, NY Academy of Medicine, and the State of Delaware. Today, I serve as Associate Deputy Director at Delaware's Division of Substance Abuse and Mental Health, overseeing our health informatics, data analytics, and major initiatives such as the 9-8-8 implementation and the Police Diversion Program.
