This will encourage patients to make lifestyle and nutritional changes to improve their 'score' by the next 3 quarterly measurements.It features the antioxidant scanner, developed at the University of Utah by the Department of Physics. The 30 second measurement using Ramen spectroscopy is performed through the skin of the hand and has been proven to be accurate and even more reliable than serum measurement of the same carotenoid antioxidants.Project Dental America will feature a Lead Practice in each of the fifty states that will successfully implement the scanner in its office, averaging 4 scans per day. All of the other general dentistry practices in the states will be notified of the success of the scanner with the patients, the staff, the media, and the income. It is estimated that only one hour of doctor time will be necessary.It is our intent that the antioxidant scanner will be an important feature of every dental office in the country by January 1, 2020.
