Dr. Debra Adams OBE, undertook her Registered Nurse training in Birmingham, UK. UK). Her thesis examined; clinical evaluation of safety needle devices and their associated reduction of occupationally acquired needlestick injuries, the determination of both in vivo and in vitro reduction of peripheral vascular catheter associated phlebitis and finally the in vivo and in vitro evaluations of a new skin disinfectant (2% chlorhexidine in 70% isopropyl alcohol).Debra currently has had over 60 publications in peer reviewed journals and has presented at local, national and international conferences. Furthermore, she has been on; the Programme Boards of Forum for Injection Technique (FIT) and the Guideline Development Advisory Group-EPIC3, the UK Advisory Panel Healthcare Workers with BBV. In addition, she was the winner of British Journal of Nursing Awards 2013 and the Kimberley Clarke HAI Award 2013 (details below). In 2015 Debra was awarded a three year NICE Fellowship: 2016-19.
