I am responsible for the day-to-day running of the microbiology laboratories of the Food Safety Department at Teagasc Food Research Centre in Ashtown. There are approximately 30 staff in the laboratories and my role is to ensure they are trained & mentored when they arrive, project planning, selection of methodology and ensuring the work carried out is of high quality.
