My successful formal training and experience has earned me a reputation as being a highly competent researcher, program evaluator, investigator, writer, grant writer (including contract proposals), trainer, and peer reviewer. My ability to write grant and work proposals is established by the success of the proposals in the millions of dollars.As a researcher and writer, my work has found itself in the foreground of theory in Criminology, as work relied on by the U.S. Senate, and as a primary source for other researchers.As a retired federal law enforcement officer, I have provided P.O.S.T. training to local law enforcement officers in interview & interrogation (custodial interviews), ethics, communication skills, anger management, stress management, CJ planning, and 4th Amendment (search & seizure).My expertise in developing new programs and leadership were instrumental as a Co-Chair (2011-2013) and Co-Vice-Chair (2008-2011) of the Correctional Trainer Certification Commission (CTCC), in establishing, through the collaboration between the American Jail Association (AJA) and the International Association of Correctional Training Personnel (IACTP), a certifying body to recognize highly qualified Correctional Trainers. And I have been a Certified Correctional Trainer from 2008 to present as well.
