Duane J. Wallace II, DrPH, MPH, PMP, CPH, CHES is a two-time graduate from the University of Maryland, College Park (UMD), earning both his bachelor and masters from the School of Public Health. Dr. Wallace is a recent Doctor of Public Health graduate from Morgan State University (MSU) - School of Community Health & Policy and graduate of the Johns Hopkins Institute for Clinical and Translational Research predoctoral fellowship program. Dr. Wallace currently serves as adjunct faculty teaching Public Health at Morgan State University. He has over 10 years of undergraduate and graduate teaching and curriculum development experience; instructing at MSU, UMD, Towson University and Harvard University. Dr. Wallace recently completed a postdoctoral fellowship program with the Faculty of Arts and Sciences at Harvard University, where he provided tools and strategies for educators to apply antiracist and culturally competent teaching strategies in their classroom. Dr. Wallace has served on the Student Assembly executive board for the American Public Health Association (APHA) and is a member of the Society of Public Health Educators (SOPHE), the Metropolitan-Washington Public Health Association (MWPHA), the Consortium of Universities for Global Health (CUGH) and the American Association of Blacks in Higher Education (AAHBE). Dr. Wallace utilizes his doctoral degree, Community Health Education Specialist (CHES), Certified in Public Health (CPH) and Project Management Professional (PMP) certifications to effectively manage and conduct participatory action research. Presently, he is owner and senior Project Director of Downtown Strategy & Insights public health evaluation and program planning consulting firm based in the D.C. Metropolitan area and instructs the introductory undergraduate course titled “Discovering Public Health,” of which he authored the homonymous innovative digital workbook. In addition, Dr. Wallace conducts workshops at universities across the U.S. informing professors about the business and processes of non-traditional textbook and is co-chair for Health & Wellness committee of his fraternity Omega Psi Phi.
