SJSU 2018 PRSSA Bateman Competition TeamWorked with three fellow teammates to conceptualize, strategize and execute a month-long campaign to raise awareness for pediatric cancer non-profit, With-Purpose. My team earned the highest score a team representing SJSU had ever received in this national competition, competing with over 80 teams from around the U.S. My duties included:- Wrote and successfully pitched an Op-Ed that was published on the San Jose Inside website.- Served as the lead of primary and secondary research which lead my team to score a 9 out of 10 in the research section of the competition. This included surveying of over 200 members of our target audience, analyzing this data and presenting it in reports and presentations.- Organized a meeting with Congresswoman Zoe Lofgren and received her endorsement of our With Purpose Campaign- Delivered public speeches at events to raise awareness of the With Purpose campaign with target audiences- Assisted in my team's passing of a proclamation at San Jose City Hall which declared March, Pediatric Cancer Awareness month in San Jose.Other public relations work performed:- Worked on multiple accounts to strategize and deliver target messaging to the client's target audience- Developed and pitched client communication plans that set out objectives, goals, strategies and tactics- Managed client social media accounts including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram- Wrote and pitched press releases for various agency clients as needed

Served as public relations associate and one of six staff writers for Naked Magazine, a student-run publication at Las Positas College.I wrote and designed all e-mail marketing communications to raise awareness regarding ad space for sale. This led to Naked Magazine raised a raising a record amount of ad revenue. I also saved the publication money by finding a local printing company that was cheaper than the one the publication had been using for the past five years. The publication continues to use this printer to this day.I also served as a staff writer and wrote a 1,500-word article interviewing the most influential people on campus.
