I act as a key adviser on journal policies and practices, working with the Editorial Board on such matters as the development of new journal features, adherence to publishing ethics, and the response to changes both in the publishing market and in the cancer immunotherapy specialty. Together with the Editorial Board, I oversee the strategic direction of the journal, including the identification of the journal aims and scope, and ensuring that the established goals are met. I also manage day-to-day operations and guide the workflow necessary to support publication of the journal. Daily editorial functions include handling manuscript submissions, facilitating peer reviews, processing manuscript decisions, and serving as a primary source for customer service for authors, reviewers, editors, and publishing partners alike.

The Society for Immunotherapy of Cancer is dedicated to improving cancer patient outcomes by advancing the science, development and application of cancer immunology and immunotherapy. As Director of Education Programs, I oversaw and initiated the development of continuing education opportunities for scientific researchers and clinical care teams looking to advance the field of immunotherapy and to translate it effectively into clinical practice. Some of my responsibilities included:- Organization and development of SITC's worldwide annual meeting and associated programs, a week-long series of immunotherapy-specific events reaching over 2,400 researchers, clinicians, government representatives, etc.- Development and expansion of regional programs focused on teaching physicians, nurses and pharmacists the basic about tumor immunology and how to translate cancer immunotherapy treatments into their practices (total of 33 programs to-date) - Oversight of the development of online CME activities and a jeopardy-style app presenting cancer immunotherapy education to clinicians in the form of a competitive game- Identification and organization of international collaborative educational opportunities- Working with organizing committees of key opinion leaders to develop learning objectives and education plans for live education programs- Management of accreditation for all live and online education programs following guidelines from such bodies as ACCME, ANCC, ACPE, AMA, and CMS- Overall strategic planning and outcomes analysis for educational initiatives- Management of over $5 million in program budgets and assistance in grant writing to obtain financial support - Supervision of education department staff
