Seconded from KPMG at the request of NHS England to lead the Integrated Care System (ICS) Accelerator, an intensive programme of hands-on support to help health systems bridge the gap between being a developing STP and a mature ICS. Situated within the PCST, part of the Deputy CEO Directorate, this programme is being delivered to two cohorts of five regional health systems in 2019/20. Support is structured around core components of system development as set out in the NHS Long Term Plan and the ICS maturity matrix. Systems have access to dedicated subject matter experts, both from within NHSEI and external partners. Support is delivered through a combination of workshops, sharing best practice, and work on key documents and strategies. A key output will be a roadmap outlining their trajectory to becoming an ICS.
