Developing an embedded system capable of sensing particulate matter and gas concentrations (CO, CO2, and ozone) capable of long-distance communication of these data within extreme environments.Additionally, I have just started working on a low power system capable of recognizing objects from image sets; this is part of the IEEE Low Power Image Recognition Challenge (LPIRC). This uses neural nets, low power embedded systems, and network on a chip capabilities to achieve the lowest power consumption while still accurately recognizing and distinguishing multiple objects within an image.

In conjunction with Sandia National Laboratories, this interdisciplinary clinic designed and developed a 5-axis semi-autonomous scanning machine. My project focused on the motor control and autonomous function of the machine, as well as the pre-programmed paths for the preliminary scan. This project won the Outstanding Project award for Senior Design for the Electrical and Computer Engineering department.
