About Drew Stanley
I've always loved learning how the world works, from the physical sciences to just about anything I could ask the most dreaded question heard from any child: "why?" I was the kid who'd read anything from a textbook on astronomy to a biography on the Wright Brothers just for fun. When I got my hands on a book about the early days of computing at MIT and working with the IBM 704, I was hooked. I knew I'd found something I could study and apply for the rest of my life and still have entire libraries of subject matter left woefully untouched.I've tried my hand at coding (Java, C++, Python among others) but nothing really clicked with me. One night I was troubleshooting a friend's PC and internet connection, and it happened again: I ended up falling down the hardware/software/networking rabbit hole for six hours in the blink of an eye. It hooked me hard, and I knew IT was the right fit for me.I've done hardware, software, and networking installation and support in the past, everything needed to keep a business running and profitable – but now I'm eager to make a career out of it and never stop learning.
