I am currently studying Msc Management at Imperial College Business School, I have a strong passion for science and business, and a love for helping those around me. After I graduate, I aim to start a career as a management or strategy consultant in London.Growing up, I always had an interest in both business and medicine. Upon entering university, I chose to study medicine and focused all my efforts on becoming a doctor. However, I soon realized that I was not as interested in health care as I thought. While I love helping those in need, my favorite aspects of my education, working with data, learning new things, and interacting with my peers, are not found often in medicine post-education. I turned to business and found that the aspects of science I enjoyed are often central aspects of a career as a consultant. While my time as a pre-med student may not have led me down the career path I am now pursuing, it did equip me with many skills important to consulting. As a research assistant at UMass Amherst, I developed strong analytical skills and gained experience talking to the scientific equivalent of shareholders. I analyzed thousands of data points from patient sleep data using excel and MatLab. At the end of the project, I led a group of peers in presenting our findings to field experts and obtained funding to expand the study.I also have had many experiences leading and working within teams. I have been a captain for multiple ice hockey and football teams throughout my higher education and helped many of those teams win championships. Now, at Imperial, I consistently collaborate with new teams consisting of highly intelligent individuals from all over the world. As a pre-med student, effective communication is one of the first things you learn. As a hospital volunteer, I utilized a data-based approach, where you communicate in a clear and concise manner. As a teaching assistant, I led large group and one-on-one review sessions, where I used an adaptable approach, catering my communication style to best help my target audience understand the complex concepts.Outside of learning and helping others I have many hobbies. I enjoy reading, playing golf and football, going on hikes with my dogs and family, and building and fixing things using the maintenance and repair skills I honed with my dad.I am enthusiastic about connecting with professionals in the Business Industry to exchange experiences and explore potential opportunities.
