I am a language educator specializing in English as a Foreign/Second Language teaching and curriculum design. I've developed my own framework for curriculum design called, "Backward Design with Text Analysis" and I employ a Multiliteracies Approach in the classroom. My mission is promote language learning and multilingualism through the design and implementation of language curriculum and assessment. Since 2016, I've taught general EFL (private institutes and secondary school), test preparation (TOEFL and Cambridge), pronunciation training, and content-based instruction courses (literature and academic writing). At my last position, I designed and taught the Interactional Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Program English Acquisition and Literature and Academic Writing curriculum for 8th and 9th grade. I also wrote and taught the Cambridge B1 Preliminary and B2 First preparation courses for the school's 2023 cohort with a 100% pass rate. I wrote a self-paced teacher training course focused on foreign language curriculum design using backward design and text analysis with example novice and advanced curricula for my Masters in Foreign Language Teaching from Michigan State University. It also included a four phase IPA with interpretive reading, interactional speaking, interpretive listening, and presentational writing for EFL intermediate high (B1+) class aligned to IB and ACTFL standards in the training course.
