I serve as point of contact for all press releases/inquiries relevant to the Rochester and Rochester Hills Gazette Newspaper. I also provide live news updates on the Rochester and Rochester Hills Gazette Facebook on a daily basis. Areas of expertise include local government, city council and construction/business development news.

I cover stories directly affecting the Rochester and Rochester Hills communities with an emphasis on the bi-monthly city council meetings.

I cover LGBTQ+ news in the Metro Detroit area on a per-article basis. Clips include event coverage (Grand Rapids Pride, Ferndale Pride), two cover stories, in-depth profiles of local artists & activists, as well as national news. I have also been tasked with photographing events such as the March For Our Lives rally in Detroit and an organized protest against conversion therapy at a Riverview church.

Researched financial lifestyle stories and pitched ideas to LearnVest's editorial team every day. Managed the team's Forbes.com content channel. Wrote headlines and social copy for our social channels, including Facebook and Forbes. My LearnVest articles have been picked up by Forbes and Business Insider, resulting in hundreds of thousands of reader engagements. Aside from my main duties as the editorial intern, I also assisted in creating and presenting a marketing campaign for Northwestern Mutual, which acquired LearnVest in 2015.

As a newsroom intern, I was tasked with finding local and national headlines, interviewing news makers, reporting on events, recording and editing audio, taking photos, creating digital posts, and engaging readers worldwide through social media.
