About Drew Morrill

I am a physicist focused on the development of novel light sources and their applications. For my PhD thesis, I developed a mid-infrared laser amplifier and used it to generate a coherent beam of soft X-ray light. My research involves optical systems design, computer simulation, machining/manufacturing, nonlinear optics, fiber lasers, crystal optics, and much more. I am currently helping to manage the development of three unique light sources and imaging systems that operate in the soft X-ray, EUV (13 nm) and VUV spectral regions.
