I work strategically and empathetically with employers to achieve their people objectives and navigate associated challenges throughout sustained periods of significant reform to the Australian industrial relations legislative framework.My primary focus relates to industrial relations strategy and disputes – either in a BAU context or through transformational M&A transactions. In addition to my IR experience, I have a wealth of experience in partnering with clients to develop great workplace cultures and to respond to allegations of inappropriate workplace conduct when they arise. I have significant experience supporting clients on global employment issues, ensuring a consistent approach to their people issues regardless of where their operations are in the world. In addition to almost 20 years in private practice, I recently completed a secondment with BHP, working closely with them to establish the Strategic Projects Legal team, giving me a unique insight to my clients’ internal needs. As Managing Partner of Herbert Smith Freehills’ Sydney office, I have the privilege of leading a team of more than 85 market-leading Partners working across our global network.
