Responsible for the management and delivery of specialist construction projects to various government and military clients in addition to the delivery of maintenance and shooting range fit-out projects for various clients across the Middle EastProjects have ranged from small arms shooting ranges to multi-million-dollar military training facilities.• Managed the onsite design, procurement and installation of all specialist fit out equipment.• Chaired design co-ordination meetings with the main contractor and sub-contractors for specialist design issues, including any architectural, structural, low voltage, electrical and mechanical requirements• Managed a total workforce up to 150No. direct hire and sub-contractors, including engineers, draftsmen and supervisors.• Managed and completed the on-site co-ordination and submittals including the design submittals, material submittals, shop drawings, method statements, risk assessments, inspection test plans, training schedules, testing and commissioning plan.• Created reports, programmes, schedules and logs to report on procurement, site progress and manage project cashflow and budget.• Ordered and managed all materials, labour and plant required on site.• Coordinated the shipping from international suppliers in line with any export licensing, letter of credit or contractual requirements.• Reported and worked directly with the Finance Department on project related budgets, costs, letter of credit and monthly payment certificates from the Client/Contractor.• Managed and organised the testing, commissioning and on-site training for all specialist equipment with the client.• Managed and finalised the operations and maintenance files for handover.• Interviewed and hired all staff (Engineers and Technicians) in country for a manpower service agreement in Qatar.

The Lofts Project involved the construction of three high rise residential buildings: two with thirty-one levels and one with twenty eight levels. The towers were connected by a podium / basement structure of nine levels. • Assisted the Senior Design Manager in co-ordinating the design of the internal finishes to the project. • Chaired design co-ordination meetings with the design team and specialist subcontractors.• Participated in regular design team meetings, with senior management and Consultants, reporting on design issues, release of information and upcoming packages.• Liaised with the client and their representatives.• Guided the project team on design related issues.• Managed a team of 8no Co-ordinators and Draftsmen.• Reviewed and managed the submission of technical data, shop drawings and samples to the client/design team.

Student Support Services (£18m) Client: Newcastle University and in tandem Transport House, Newcastle Upon Tyne, UK (17.5m)Student Support Services Comprised of a 5 storey concrete frame on CFA piles. The South and West elevations were full height curtain walling with Bris Soleil on the south elevation. The North and East elevations were predominantly stone rain screen cladding. The building was predominately office space with mixed interaction areas for the students. My role on this job and Transport House below was to assist the Senior Design Manager in taking both jobs from design to construction.Transport House was a four-storey steel frame building with composite concrete floors throughout. The external façade was predominately made up of fair face brickwork and curtain walling. The facility included open plan and cellular office space, primary laboratories and secondary laboratories housing specialist equipment and facilities. Other areas included major seminar space, informal meeting spaces and social areas.• Assisted the Commercial Director with tender enquiries and submissions.• Produced schedules and registers of tender and construction information.• Managed and communicated sub-contractor technical queries through to the Design Team.• Attended design workshops with tendering sub-contractors.• Coordinated external consultant advice such as acoustic specialists.• Set up on site document control systems and reviewed information release schedules and design programmes.• Managed the release of information through an electronic management system. • Reviewed construction issue drawings to make sure they were in line with contract drawings.• Chaired regular design workshops in relation to all sub-contractor design packages.

Asda Gateshead, Tyne & Wear, UK (£3.5m) Client: Asda Wallmart• Participated in regular site progress meetings with the Client and Consultant team discussing site programmes, design issues and cost.• Produced phasing plans and co-ordinated the works with the store liaison manager to minimise the disruption caused by our onsite activities.• Reviewed on site safety and implemented safety inductions in line with the Client’s procedures on a daily basis.• Effectively managed and directed sub-contractors in line with contract drawings and company policies.• Ordered and managed all materials, labour or plant required on site.• Controlled and distributed all drawings, architects’ instructions and technical queries through to all sub-contractors.• Compiled and completed Health & Safety file and Operations and Maintenance file for handover.Flagg Court Medical Centre, South Shields, Tyne & Wear, UK (£7.5m) Client: NHS• Managed the completion of the contract for handover including the external car park, landscaping, contract variations and final snagging to the project.• Controlled and organised all materials, labour and plant for the above works.• Ensured all sub-contractors worked safely and adhered to their method statements and risk assessments at all times.• Liaised with the medical care centre staff in relation to handover procedures, documentation and the Operation and Maintenance manual.Highfield School, Sunderland, Tyne & Wear, UK (£6.8m) Client: City of Sunderland Council • Assisted in the management of the mobilisation and security of the site.• Effectively assisted in managing the piling, groundwork’s, steel frame, block work, curtain walling, internal finishes and roofing packages on the contract.• Controlled and issued all design team information to the sub-contractors.• Ordered materials and plant for direct labour activities.• Successfully managed the site when senior management were not present.
