As the 2nd Assistant Superintendent on The Meadows course, Drew has used the skills gained throughout his internship to provide leadership and guidance to the turf care team. He participates in hiring seasonal employees, trains staff on new tasks and equipment, and is the lead of the Meadows product application team. He has also further developed his leadership skills, getting more comfortable planning daily maintenance, and leading the crew for several days throughout the season. Drew works closely with his supervisors to develop maintenance plans, and is constantly searching for opportunities to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness.

In this role, Drew developed skills in all aspects of golf course maintenance including the execution of all cultural practices, irrigation troubleshooting and repair, spraying foliar fertilizers and pesticides, and the completion of various landscape construction projects. Drew also had the opportunity to gain leadership experience by leading various teams to the completion of tasks and projects. In this role, Drew was able to build strong working relationships with members of the Turf Management team, which he was able to leverage into a full time position as a 2nd Assistant Superintendent.
