Responsible for leading the Global New Product and Technology Purchasing organization including Global Support departments. Improved business outcomes in areas of supplier innovation, initial sourcing quality and speed, supply chain risk, procedural adherence, product and process performance, supplier performance and relationships. Oversee the Standard Sourcing Process, its integration into Crown’s Product Development Process and ensure alignment across the entire organization and supply chain. Effectively lead a center led, layered matrix organization with minimal supervision. This position reports to the Director of Purchasing. The New Product Purchasing Managers’ and Global Supplier Development Teams report to this position.

Facilitate the development and risk mitigation of the global supply base and execution of global commodity strategies. Maintain the standardized sourcing process. Educate Supply Management personnel. Identify Intellectual Property Protection needs. Provide support, oversight, and supervision on new and existing product programs. Ensure performance of supplier outreach, selection, development and qualification. Oversee quoting, analysis and implementation of cost saving and value engineering projects. Support make/buy decisions. Develop comprehensive sourcing plans. Ensure suppliers, components, materials, processes and assemblies are competed, selected and qualified to support quality, reliability, cost and production goals.

Develop/execute commodity and supply base optimization strategies and plans. Evaluate existing and potential suppliers; search for new suppliers. Initiate and execute cost savings projects and request for quotation. Develop and qualify materials, components, processes, assemblies, and suppliers. Negotiate prices, terms, statements of work, technical requirements, and contracts. Develop and implement replenishment strategies. Facilitate/execute the Standard Sourcing Process in supporting new product development.

Directed 32 international facilities purchasing practices and procedures. Negotiated and implemented global contracts for materials and utilities. Sourced and procured global manufacturing facilities and capital equipment.

Manage 300 person operations while giving the Board of Directors time to react to the unexpected departure of the prior General Manager. Had responsibilities for Sales, Operations, Finance, and HR.

Responsibilities include organizing and managing all functions of purchasing, scheduling, and inventory controls to insure customer requirements are met. Additional responsibilities include managing the product engineering group and information systems group. Member of APICS.

Providing commercial expertise for Technical Center for all major expenditures. Negotiate global contracts for procurement and installation of production lines, while working in a multi-tasking environment. Annual budget of over $120 million, with annual cost avoidances over 15%. Member of NAPM.

Manage product from planning, scheduling, and through production. Procure equipment to organize growth and methods of production for the after-market glass replacement division.
