B2B selling is a relationship business about people not products, which requires listening to the client’s requirements not telling them what you want them to hear. I personally take an active role to get to know my clients and their needs in order to make sure the solutions provided meet their expectations. While working collectively as a team, I strive to keep my company’s focus on the client’s success by reminding them: “If we were in the customer’s shoes, what would our expectations be?” Make it personal. This process has allowed for great success with major automotive OEMs as well as startups, including stealth non-automotive technology corporations that are striving to establish their position in the heavily contested automotive industry’s new frontier called e-Mobility.I highly value analytics as a means to understand the market; where it was, is and where it’s going along with why. I spend my spare time to get to know your potential customers before I even meet them. Seeing what is driving their behaviors allows me to make critical decisions such as what markets to enter, what products to develop or refine and what customers to pursue.With a keen understanding of mechanical and electrical controls systems, I have worked closely with product development teams for a variety of product types to help create new and innovative products and refine existing ones to meet higher demands and expectations. These technology based products and systems have been used in a variety of industries from aerospace and automotive testing to assembly automation.I challenge my colleagues to think differently, consider alternative methods to achieve similar results more efficiently. An example of this is investing 3D printing for non-critical component parts where durability isn’t a concern instead of costly machining which also takes much longer. With this, we also created prototype parts for concepts when the real customer parts were not available, allowing products to be developed and delivered quicker.Spending three years each in China and Japan were very unique experiences in learning to understand and deal with different cultures. This presented me with opportunities to learn, exchange ideas and teach others to be open-minded to different methods and concepts that have been successful elsewhere.It is quite clear that e-Mobility and renewable energy are the ways of the future. My goal is to help make that path simpler and more cost effective.
