I am a communications professional with 20 years of experience and a passion for the arts and asset-based community development. Prior to my current role as Communications Director for Buckeye Hills Regional Council in Marietta, Ohio, I served in a variety of capacities with rural, community-based nonprofit, media, and arts organizations. As a reporter for a rural newspaper for ten years, I covered community and economic development topics at the local level, from industrial site remediation and public infrastructure projects to tourism and federal land management. I have also served a variety of small business, tourism, and nonprofit clients as a freelance photographer, writer, web developer, and marketing consultant. A 2002 graduate of Capital University, I earned my BA in International Studies with minors in Music and Spanish. When I'm not working, you'll find me behind an upright bass or camera, or perhaps hiking or biking a local trail with my family. (Views and opinions expressed are my own and not necessarily those of Buckeye Hills Regional Council.)
