Prior to my current role as Communications Director for Buckeye Hills Regional Council in Marietta, Ohio, I served in a variety of capacities with rural, community-based nonprofit, media, and arts organizations. As a reporter for a rural newspaper for ten years, I covered community and economic development topics at the local level, from industrial site remediation and public infrastructure projects to tourism and federal land management. I have also served a variety of small business, tourism, and nonprofit clients as a freelance photographer, writer, web developer, and marketing consultant. A 2002 graduate of Capital University, I earned my BA in International Studies with minors in Music and Spanish. My responsibilities include: • Working collaboratively with our leadership team to manage communication with local, state, and federal elected officials for regional community and economic development and area agency on aging priorities; • Coordinating internal communication with more than 60 staff across four agency divisions; • Designing and producing materials for the agency website, social media, email, print, and local media; • Writing speeches, letters, articles, and press releases; and • Coordinating media buys for general advertising, human resources, and programmatic needs.

I joined the team at Peoples Bank Theatre just as the 1,000-seat historic venue was preparing to reopen for the first time in 30 years. I led the marketing efforts of the theatre from preparation for its grand re-opening to its present-day position as one of southeast Ohio's leading performing arts and live entertainment venues. When I left, the theatre was welcoming more than 30,000 yearly guests through its doors, generating more than $1 million in annual gross ticket revenue, and receiving support from more than 200 annual members. In addition, I served as a voice for historic preservation, public art, and downtown revitalization through Marietta Main Street. Working to raise the profile of the theatre, I collaborated with the Marietta-Washington County Convention & Visitors Bureau and the Greater Parkersburg CVB to promote the theatre and the region as a tourism destination. I also: • Researched, selected, and implemented the initial ticketing system and managed transition to a new provider and improved system for selling more than 30,000 tickets annually; • Assisted in the coordination of fundraising events and event sponsor recognition; and • Provided oversight of box office staff and customer care for more than 100 events annually.
