Planning Commissioners make recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners on a wide variety of land use applications, including: rezonings; special uses; vacations; special district service plans; and subdivision plats. Also responsible for making, updating and adopting the county's Comprehensive Master Plan.

Department Co-Chair - volunteer. Develop the curriculum for the Energy Generation & Distribution technology sector while ensuring that core business elements such as funding, policy, commercialization, data and legal issues are woven through all departments.

A 6-year old consulting firm that has completed approximately 40 projects/transactions regarding the "highest and best use" of real estate development, energy design/usage and "deal structures."

The Colorado Clean Energy Cluster (CCEC) is an ‘enterprise to attract, incubate and grow clean energy enterprises’The CCEC is an economic development organization aimed at growing primary jobs in Colorado in the area of clean energy through formal partnerships between clean energy companies, the public sector and higher education.As a unique statewide organization fostering market transformation for clean energy, the CCEC is focused on innovative and entrepreneurial ways to grow the clean energy sector through actionable projects and initiatives that directly benefit Colorado clean energy companies.

* Help direct industry relations, including retention and recruitment efforts, for the state's top trade association representing clean-tech companies. * Perform legislative relations to advance the interests of the association's 200 members.* Helped spearhead legislative advocacy campaign that resulted in the successful passage of the Colorado Innovations Re-investment Act, which will generate an additional $2 million annually for start-up clean-tech and biotech companies in Colorado.

Directing a holding company including:* Real estate: raised and ran two investment funds that buy, and rehabilitate distressed properties; completed over 30 complex real estate transactions; designed five "Built Green Colorado" high-end single family homes in Denver's historic Highlands neighborhood.* Clean-tech: developed and launced a beta version of "CleanPitch.com" that provided free, two minute videos to connect angel investors with hard-to-find clean energy and green building deals; developed a leading edge Colorado biodiesel business plan.* Consulting: numerous consulting projects including renewable energy projects and a northern Colorado land use project.

* Led a State of Colorado cabinet-level office charged with statewide renewable energy, alternative fuels and energy conservation issues/projects.* Co-created the "Colorado Biofuels Coalition" and the "Colorado Renewable Energy Authority."* Studied twice (not a gov't expense) Europe's renewable energy and alternative fuels efforts: first as a Fellow of the European Union Visitors Program in Brussels/Strasbourg; and a second time as part of the privately-sponsored fact-finding mission by the Alliance to Save Energy.

* Served as overall coordinator for the visit of the Premier of China, along with a delegation of 220 dignitaries; organized the Administration's first State Dinner.* Served as overall coordinator for two trade missions to Mexico - one trade mission was the largest of any state during that decade with 107 Colorado business leaders; arranged direct meetings with the President of Mexico on both occasions.* Served as overall coordinator for trade missions to Frankfurt, Germany, which is Europe's financial center; arranged meetings with the chairman of the world's largest bank.* Served as leader of a business and academic trade mission to China, meeting with business leaders and a mayor of 8 million citizens.* Performed customs, tariff and logistics research for Colorado client companies.* Performed consulting services to Colorado client companies regarding international business plans and international marketing plans, helping ensure successful viability in foreign consumer markets.* Convened and organized a panel of international experts to select the annual "Governor's Award for Excellence in Exporting."
