Following years in academic research, policymaking, and teaching, I shifted my focus to acquiring data science techniques to address previously unsolvable problems. There is a world of data and vital discoveries to be made using data science tools. As a champion of science, I aspire to persuade people with evidence and analysis. I completed my training at Springboard, an intensive data science bootcamp, where I gained critical skills in data manipulation, statistics, machine learning, and data visualization.In my time as a biology research scientist, I collected and analyzed data on protein functions, at one time screening dozens of antibodies by fluorescent microscopy. Working for a federal agency, I sifted through evidence and consulted scientific resources, to help draft policy in line with federal statutes. As a teacher I discovered that you don’t really know something unless you can teach it.
