Experience, Licensure and Qualifications: 1) I have been in the business of Purchasing for the past 30+ years in three different areas. Military/Aerospace with Odetics. Labeling/Bottling industry with Trine/Accraply and now with the County of Orange. Three very different areas but areas that all have been a challenge and I have become very good at getting the job done and saving some money along the way.2) I have worked under and with some of the best purchasing people plus over the 30+ years have learned more than any school could teach me. I have work with Sr. buyers back when I was a kid and they had over 35 years of experience in the field where I learned from my High school Baseball and Hockey coach that if you listen, watch and give a 100% effort in what you do you will overcome any obstacle in life or business.3) Back to my desk, I have put together contracts that have been for huge NASA missions or military secret missions that our recorders were there doing the best job possible. And we all knew there was no coming back if something went wrong. Again learning how to get the job done right the first time and making it the best purchase overall.4) Over the past 30+ years I have gone to a wide range of trade shows all over the country and each has taught me something new. You never stop learning. Everyone can teach you a lesson and it may be a life lesson or a lesson on doing your job better. But a lesson missed is something we all can’t give up these days.5) My days at the County of Orange/ Social Services Agency. Night and day from private business. Things have been a huge shock to the system in learning how things are done on a daily basis. But like my old Hockey coach told me one game we were losing real bad. He said learn from the changes you see and be open to try new things to confront them.
