My engineers primarily use Java, Kotlin, Spring, Quarkus, React, Node.js, C#, Oracle, SQL Server, AWS, CloudFoundry, and custom frameworks as well. As Engineering Manager, I am ultimately responsible for establishing practices, procedures, and standards for the creation of custom software used by over millions of individuals all over the world in over 150 languages.I am also responsible for sourcing and interviewing potential candidates, determining which new roles we need to open, and helping the existing workforce refine their skillsets to adapt to the constantly changing technologies. I lead a team of 50-60 intern, contract, and full-time Software Development and Database Engineers for the Missionary Software Portfolio who design, develop, customize, and integrate software used by missionaries, mission presidents, church headquarters and ecclesiastical leaders throughout the world. My engineers primarily use Java, Angular, React, Node.js, Oracle, SQL Server, AWS, CloudFoundry, and custom frameworks as well. As Software Engineerng Manager, I am ultimately responsible for establishing practices, procedures, and standards for the creation of custom software used by over 65,000 individuals who speak dozens of languages.I am responsible for finding, interviewing, hiring, and disciplining all software and database engineers for the Missionary Work of the Church. Additionally, responsible for recruiting about 20 interns each year and providing them with a mentor for their career growth. I hold at least monthly 1:1 interviews with each team member to address issues, team reassignment, career growth opportunities, etc. I help refine the interviewing and hiring process by providing new technologies and methodologies, helping the entire organization adapt to current market needs and trends while upholding high standards.

I am currently the architect and developer team lead for Mormon.org. I have been a key player in their successful seasonal and regional campaigns, such as the Because He Lives, Hallelujah, Light the World, and the Prince of Peace campaigns in terms of the planning, execution, and building of the campaign websites. I have also participated on the design council for the campaigns, working directly with our design and marketing agency. My duties have included overseeing overall site architecture, prioritization planning, and utilizing Node.js, Angular, React, HTML5, CSS3, and other Javascript to meet the demands of this ever-changing website which receives millions of visitors weekly. I have also been heavily involved in planning and building out beta testing sites where we perform user and other testing for modules that may be brought into the core website. Our dynamic testing framework is built on Node.js and uses a 100% custom high performance framework written purely in ES6 (ECMAScript 2015) and other node modules. In 2017, in the course of 4 months, we reduced the render time of Mormon.org on mobile 3G connections by more than 70% by optimizing CSS, HTML, JavaScript, image management, and third party tag management. According to Matt Patton, Analytical Lead at Google, this is the most significant and quickest implemented improvement they have ever seen from a client.Additionally I have participated on the architectural councils within the Information and Communication Services division of the church. We discuss problems and solutions specific to, or across various products in our software portfolio. We also discuss new technologies and standards to use as an organization.Last, I have been selected as a presenter of several breakout sessions for the church's in-house conference which is attended by over 600 developers, QA engineers, project managers, solution managers, and other architects.

Using our technology, product reviews are aggregated from all across the internet, then filtered based on whether that review is believed to be written by a bot. Additionally, Chirp users can submit their own verified reviews and follow individuals that they trust. Our system allows users to review the reviewer, promoting a community of honest, transparent reviews, whether they be positive reviews or not.

As practice lead for PDS, was responsible for training recruiting staff on how to find, screen, and develop candidates in the IT world. Offered one on one training and workshops for office staff, teaching everything from employee psychology to Agile methodology, including industry practices and how to identify developers who are padding their resumes. Met with potential clients of PDS along with the VP of Staffing and Solutions. This was multi- purpose: to determine the scope of the client’s needs, to be able to help PDS recruiters better find and screen potential consultants in order to fulfill those needs, and to be an example on what types of individuals PDS could bring to their organization. As a senior developer, I was stationed at the LDS Church to work as team lead for mormon.org and performed both rules concurrently.

Responsible for designing and developing all user interfaces for C.R. England’s tools for managing their global fleet of trucks, personnel, payroll, etc. Interfaces were prototyped using Axure software, and then developed using HTML5, CSS3, and ES5 JavaScript. Worked with various departments to optimize the workflow of these tools and optimizing the user experience to keep overhead down while ensuring cross-browser compatibility. Agile environment with 3-week sprints. Worked with java developers utilizing Apache Tomcat, Spring, Maven, and Eclipse while using SVN for version control to create the custom tools. Designed and built prototypes and UIs for mobile apps using Axure, jQuery Mobile, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript. Apps would be used on iOS and Android OS phones and tablets via PhoneGap. I was responsible to architect, design and build 27 responsive internet and Intranet sites for C.R. England and its subsidiaries utilizing a variety of technologies as well as creating 100% custom themes and integrating ties between the CMS with CAS and MsSQL Server.

I acted as front-end lead for the revamp of DiscoverAmerica.com, the official travel website for the US. I coordinated with a team of off-site developers to deliver the new website, which was built on SiteCore CMS, in just two months. This involved the creation of many modules and templates, using modern CSS and Javascript best practices.Additionally, I worked as a Sr. Drupal Engineer for Taylor Guitars and the LPGA, giving additional support on those projects as-needed.

I was responsible for the creation of online learning campuses which supported the company's core products and allowed customers to schedule and receive 1:1 investment coaching. I was responsible for creating custom front-end layouts and custom back-end modules for the Drupal CMS. Skills included HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, and MySQL.
