Financial Analyst
CurrentI have worked in a variety of roles with Kent County. Initially, I spent most of my time processing payroll in Oracle PeopleSoft and then cross-walking the payroll into the County's new accounting software, Advantage 360. I helped implement the new A360 payroll system starting in late January. Implementing the new system was difficult, but helped me understand the Human Resources and Payroll side of the system very well. Every payroll I would create pivot tables to search through payroll extracts for anomalies such as wrong event codes being used, more than 80 hours being recorded, or extremely high paychecks for employees. I still assist payroll when I am needed, but I was handed other financial responsibilities in April and May. These responsibilities include creating monthly entries for several departments. The largest responsibility is known as the sheriff reclassification. The new A360 software was not allocating charge outs for the sheriff department correctly. The initial reclassification consisted of a 6,000 line entry moving all charge outs back to the home department, and then a 9,000 line entry moving the correct amounts back to the charge out department. I do this same entry for every payroll to allocate the sheriff overtime and fringe benefits correctly.
