This significant release migrated a large customer base from HP-UX on PA-RISC based systems to newer HP Integrity systems. We also provided a new web-based administrative UI OEM'd from a long time HP Partner. I negotiated the OEM, and developed the MRD/PRD documents with engineering leads to deliver a strong solution to the market. This was the first major release in 5 years for this product, and we saw rapid adoption of this version across a very large customer base. As part of this road map, the HP Operations Manager for UNIX product was prepared for its next big jump, a port to Linux and the version 9 release of the platform. This included validation of platforms for our enterprise customers, a re-pricing of our product line, and significant performance gains due to the migration to 64-bit instructions and more modern multi-threading models in the product core. This release was implemented by a significant proportion of our Operations Manager 8 customer base and allowed our customers to retire their proprietary UNIX systems like Solaris and HPUX without losing functionality in their OpsMgmt platform capabilities. -
