I turned my passion of flying drones into a 6-figure business whilst enjoying every step of the way. My name is Andrew, but I am mostly known across the internet as DrewDrones, I am the co-founder of DrewDrones Studio (Shanghai) and I am currently the only foreign fully licensed commercial FPV pilot in China. I have worked with some of the biggest clients in China to bring them extraordinary footage using FPV drones. What is an FPV drone you might ask? In short, an FPV drones means that I, as the pilot see and control the drone in a fully immersive First Person View. It allows me to fly through extremely tight spaces and do maneuverers that are otherwise not achievable using traditional cameras and gimbals. Our array of drones allow us to shoot with small action cameras for those impossible to get shots but we also fly larger setups which can carry cinema cameras such as our BMPCC4K and RED Komodo 6K drones which we typically use for those larger budget TVC’s / Films.My journey of flying drones started out as hobby and with the help of my partner we turned it into a profitable business within a few months we were in the top 3 industry leading companies providing aerial services to brands such as Nike, Adidas, Mercedes, Ford, Audi, Givenchy, The North Face, Puma, Westin and since then we have work with many more.
