Drew E. Gonzalez is a postdoctoral researcher within the Exercise and Sport Nutrition Laboratory in the Department of Kinesiology and Sport Management at Texas A&M University. Drew has assisted and led several research projects with respect to sports nutrition, pharmacokinetics, exercise training, and tactical athlete nutrition and health. Drew is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS,*D) as well as a certified Tactical Strength and Conditioning Facilitator (TSAC-F,*D), both with Distinction, by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). In addition, Drew is also a certified Sports Nutritionist (CISSN) through the International Society of Sports Nutrition, a Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified by the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaching Association (CSCCa-SCCC), and certified by Society for NeuroSports (CNSP). Drew completed his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees at Texas State University in Exercise Science. Drew’s research interests focus on the impacts of nutrients, nutrient timing, and exercise on cardiorespiratory fitness, cognitive performance, and cardiometabolic health. More specifically, Drew has worked on several projects focused on improving the physiological stress responses to tactical operations among firefighters and law enforcement officers. His aim is to continue studying ways to best optimize tactical athlete nutrition and enhance the operator's health, performance, and operational readiness.
