Drew is a Menpa (Traditional Tibetan Medicine Doctor), graduate of the ShangShung Four-Year Tibetan Medicine Doctor program, and a Nehru-Fulbright Senior Scholar whose research at Mentseekhang (The Tibetan Medical Institute of HH Dalai Lama, in Dharamsala, India), focused on the efficacy of Tibetan medicine on digestive disorders.As a licensed, board certified Advanced Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in the USA with more than 15 years of experience in Western psychiatry and allopathic medicine, he has worked with patients in both large hospital psychiatric and medical-surgical/ critical care units treating an expansive variety of disorders. For the last 10 years, he has integrated in his private psychiatry practice Western medication management and psychotherapy whilst also introducing his patients to Tibetan/Bhutanese medicine, educating them in the principles of diet, lifestyle, behavior, and external therapies, with emphasis on traditional Buddhist meditation and mindfulness techniques.His work has given him a unique perspective as he’s witnessed thousands of patients’ symptoms predictably improved at the root level, if not cured from Tibetan/Bhutanese medicine. These extraordinary results have inspired him to dedicate his life to help introduce, spread, and integrate this precious medical tradition throughout the world and especially in the West where it is acutely needed.
