I have extensive experience in the areas of executive compensation and employee benefits. I assist clients with buy- and sell-side due diligence for mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and carve-outs. In this due diligence I analyze incentive plans for tax code compliance, calculate costs associated with go-forward plans, and review employment contracts and benefit plan documents for both US and international clients. Additionally, I have particular expertise in calculating excess "golden parachute" payments under Section 280G of the Internal Revenue Code and recommending mitigation strategies for clients. My legal education at SMU Dedman School of Law, where I earned my Juris Doctor cum laude, included an emphasis on tax law. During law school, I served as the Chief Counsel for the Federal Taxpayer's Clinic and participated in a summer program at the University of Oxford. Prior to my legal career, I earned a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the University of Utah.I have been admitted to the New York and Texas Bar and am a member of several legal associations, including the Tax Section of the Dallas Bar Association and the Dallas LGBT Bar Association.I am an analytical and detail-oriented lawyer with strong interpersonal and communication skills. I am dedicated to providing top-quality legal services to my clients and am excited to hone and apply my skills and knowledge in the field of tax law.
