Drew Rudloff’s practice is, in a word, unique. As a partner in the firm, he defends serious personal injury claims, insurance matters, and other complex litigation. But, a large part of Drew’s practice is devoted to schools. He trains and counsels school districts on special education issues under the IDEIA and related anti-discrimination laws, and represents boards of education and educational service centers in related proceedings. A unique practice means unique cases. Drew has successfully defended a Dayton-area board of education from seven-figure exposure stemming from delays in the construction of a school, obtained a not guilty verdict for a cattle rancher criminally prosecuted after his herd damaged neighboring properties, and helped navigate the nuances of outside placements for disabled students under the IDEIA. Other representations range from resolving a board of education’s alleged exposure under CERCLA for environmental site clean-up costs, to defending one of the largest educational service centers in Ohio in a federal suit alleging disability discrimination and civil rights violations. Drew’s efforts in these matters and others have led Super Lawyer’s Magazine to recognize him as an Ohio “Rising Star.”Drew is also active in the legal community. He was appointed to two terms on the Ohio Supreme Court's Commission on the Certification of Attorneys as Specialists, an entity overseeing agencies that certify lawyers as specialists in Ohio. Also, he is an active member of other organizations, including the Ohio Council of School Board Attorneys.
