Medical Provider contracted for Operation Allies Welcome, a humanitarian relief task force providing medical aid for >10,000 rescued Afghan allies and refugees stationed at US Army base Fort Pickett.As a member and eventual leader of the task force’s Infection Control unit, I worked closely with military and government personnel to prevent, treat, and control outbreaks of COVID-19, Tuberculosis, Malaria, Hepatitis and other life-threatening infectious diseases affecting our refugee population during their resettlement process.
