As Mid-Range Fuel Systems Manager, I managed the quality relationships, supplier quality improvement (SQI) and product performance for all fuel systems purchased worldwide by the Mid-Range Engine Business Unit. Led product performance testing, engine & components quality audit, reliability testing (EQA), (EPA) Emissions certification compliance monitoring groups. Managed the production fuel pump conversion and testing lab, adding test automation and statistical analysis.Selected Achievements:• Reorganized the internal group structure to cut operation cost and reduce warranty cost by approximately $2,000,000 per year.• Revised the Supplier Control process and internal design controls / fuel system structure management.• Reduced monthly customer complaints rate from 5% to less than 3 PPM at largest customer.• Increased internal final test first time pass rate from 66% to above 99 % in three months.• Reduced supplier rejects form 5% to 1 PPM while eliminating all receiving inspections on fuel system components.
